Kap’s Cafe opens in Dubai on New Year’s Eve, marking Kapil Sharma’s UAE debut
Cosy interiors mirror popular Surrey outlet
DUBAI – Kapil Sharma has officially opened Kap’s Cafe in Dubai, marking the Indian comedian’s entry into the UAE’s dining scene.
The café welcomed its first guests on New Year’s Eve, December 31, extending a brand that first debuted in Surrey, Canada. The launch signals a new chapter for Sharma, whose popularity spans television, streaming platforms and live entertainment.
The announcement was made through an Instagram video that opened with sweeping shots of the Dubai skyline before moving inside the café. Sharma appears on screen holding a coffee and greeting customers, setting the tone for the venue’s relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Kap’s Café Dubai launch
Kap’s Cafe opened its doors from 4pm to 12am on its first day, aligning the debut with New Year’s Eve celebrations across the city. The Dubai outlet follows the same concept as the Canadian branch, drawing inspiration from the visual style of Sharma’s Netflix shows and on-screen persona.
Interior style
Photos shared online show interiors finished in soft green and light pink tones, closely resembling the Surrey location. The design emphasises warmth and intimacy, with carefully styled seating areas intended to create a cosy yet contemporary setting.
The décor reflects the branding of Kap’s Cafe as a lifestyle extension of Sharma’s entertainment career rather than a standalone restaurant concept.
Menu offering
While the full Dubai menu has not yet been officially detailed, the Canadian outlet offers a mix of Indian and Western favourites. These include items such as vada pav and pasta, alongside an extensive range of coffees, teas and matcha-based drinks.
The Dubai café is expected to follow a similar format, catering to a broad audience with both comfort food and café-style beverages.
Brand expansion
The opening comes as Sharma continues to maintain a strong presence on streaming platforms.
The Great Indian Kapil Show remains among Netflix India’s most-watched non-fiction titles, with its fourth season recording 2.3 million views within two weeks of release. Recent episodes have featured high-profile guests including Priyanka Chopra Jonas and members of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.
